We've been doing BLW for 2 months and things are going well. My husband and I are very happy that we've followed this method. Tep enjoys having meals more and more. She'll be 9 month old in 10 days. Recently she seems to eat less but love more fruits. The beauty of BLW is that we never have to care or worry about the amount of food that she consumes. Mealtimes are always fun time for everyone. Tep's grandpa is here and he's also very impressed with her skills (of course not the amount :))
I've tried to introduce BLW to a Vietnamese baby forum. In Vietnam, the concept of solid is very complicated. People don't have any guide. There are many ways of giving solid to babies, some start at 4 month (or even sooner), some follow Japanese style, some do grandma led weaning :)). But almost every baby still has porridge or mush at the age of 1. Parents hesitate to let the baby have finger food. They think if so baby can't eat enough, it's too dangerous because baby gags a lots. BLW is of course a very weird. Some of my friends asked me if I gave my baby enough nutrition via breast milk and some sticks of veggi :) So far some mums in the forum have followed and their feedback is very positive. I am very happy. More and more people concern and ask more questions. I think the best way to answer is to read the book. But (well) it's quite difficult for some people. I decide to translate the first part in the cookbook to give people some basic info about BLW. For me, it's the most natural and suitable way of introduce solid to my baby.
